So, I've been sitting around bored for a little while. I've been tooling around on the Internet, just wasting time. I keep forgetting about this poor old blog. I think...what else am I going to look at and then I remember about this thing. I forget about all those many faithful readers (ha!) that are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for the next update. Well, to you my friends...here it is!
On health care.
My job does not offer insurance. It sucks because there are some medicines I need and they are expensive. Damn asthma. I can get through that though. I was sick a couple weeks ago. I had to go to the doctor. It cost me $80. They gave me samples for my antibiotic and then the prescription they gave me only cost $10. Well, that's alright. $90 to go the doctor. That's less than I would pay for insurance in a month. I haven't gone to the doctor in a while. The problem is this little inhaler I need that cost $200 for a 2 month's supply. That's $100 a month another $40 about every 3 months for another inhaler. I don't even bother to fill a prescription for any allergy medicine. I just stick with Benadryl. It doesn't do much good for me, but it's cheap.
That said...California had nice options for people without insurance. You were able to get health care vouchers and such. I liked it. I didn't really think much about who was paying for it. I was just thinking hey! It's free for me! The thing is, health care has became ridiculously expensive. (or maybe it always has been). However, I'm not sure what to think about the extremes of Obama and Clinton on wanting to revamp health care. They both seem WAYYYY left to me. I would love healthcare help for people, but I fear that it will have a negative impact on a lot of people. Of course, it would help a lot of people too. I've heard murmurings about the quality of care going down and such. I know places like Sweden and Canada and such already offer free healthcare or something like that. I always thought it was a good idea. I just think it would be nice to be able to afford to go to a doctor when I need to. Especially specialists. I could really use a check up at an allergy/asthma specialist. Luckily, all the female doctor care you need can be taken care of for free or for low low cost basically all across the country. Why can't this be done with other areas? Tell me. Maybe you've looked more into it.
Ok, really I am rambling and haven't looked much into any of the candidates. I wish our two party system could change a bit. We have far left and far right...not much in between. I wish the inbetweens would shine through!
Goodnight.
