a bit of good advice...

Your Fortune Is

Man who live in glass house should change clothes in basement.
The Wacky Fortune Cookie Generator

What kind of fortune is that??? Maybe men who live in glass houses want people to see them and so they change in front of the window. How many glass houses are there anyway? If I had a glass house, I don't think I would take the time to go to the basement th change. Maybe I would ummm... get curtains? Go get your fortune and tell me what it is. I'm interested...very interested. Crazy.

My sister comes home TOMORROW!!!!!! I am super super excited. She left Kuwait today. She was supposed to get here today, but it got all screwed up. That's how the army rolls.

The unthinkable has happenned. I watched The first Lord of the Rings movie finally. Now...I just need to watch Star Wars and the last two Lord of the Rings. I gave into the Harry Potter movies a couple weeks ago. I'm all caught up with that. Lord of the Rings was good if I must say. I'm so stupid though. I thought they were going to get the ring destroyed by the end of the first one. That wouldn't make any sense now would it? What would they do in the next two movies. Ahh.

So are you still out there? I feel like I am sitting in an empty room...speaking to an empty audience. Where did everybody go? Sigh. Myspace is taking over the world. It's a disease I tell you. A DISEASE!

hey kids!

Wow, it's been nearly a week since I updated. What in the world was I thinking? All the hundreds of my regular readers just left out in the cold. Sigh.

Well , the reason why nothing has been written is because nothing I could think of nothing interesting to write. When I have nothing to write, nobody leaves me comments and then that makes me sad. So sad I cry. Ok, maybe not really...but if I did cry, would that mean you would leave more comments? Hmmm.

Ok. So what to talk about?

I hope the Pacers lose every game the rest of the season. Then we would know that Jamaal and Jermaine suck bad. Is that bad of me to say? I mean, I'm a season ticket holder and I don't want them to win.

I watched a little bit of the news tonight. It sort of was depressing. All kinds of crazy things going on in this world. What do you guys think about that immigrant reformation thing they are trying to do? I say we should let them in! We are all immigrants. Do they think overcrowding will get the best of us? Have you seen the Midwest??? There's nothing there.

What else?

Did I tell you that the Pacers suck bad? They do.

I think I already told you that though.

I feel like my life is pretty interesting. Why can't I come up with more to say?

My sister comes home on Thursday from Kuwait. I'm pretty excited about that. I'm not going to lie. I haven't seen her since Christmas 2004.

OH YEAH!!! I forgot. That house I mentioned a few posts back...it's ours! It's awesome. I am going to have two roommates name Lindsey. They spell it different, so at least I can distinguish it that way. Anyway, the house is amazing! It's about a month till we move.

We will be renting from this little old Greek lady. I thought she was Russian. It turns out I was completely totally wrong. Anyway, she gets a Greek station on satellite T.V. and watches it. Her house is completely Greekified. Is that a word? I don't think so. She is cute. She gave us a hug and a kiss on the cheek. AHHH...

I guess this is all I am going to write now. Leave me a comment or something. It builds my self esteem.

It's snowing...

I'm a bit disappointed. They said there was going to be more snow. Oh well. It's the second bad snow we have had this winter, and both of them fell during rush hour. It turns the city into a nightmare.

*****
Friday night...was St. Patrick's Day. It was good times. 50 cent green beer. Now that's awesome. My friend Jessie raised the question: Why can't all holidays have 5o cent colored beer? That would be super duper cool. Red and Green beer for Christmas, orange beer for Halloween, red beer for Valentines day...ooooo.... So anyway...we went line dancing. Well not just line dancing...just dancing like crazy fools. We can't line dance. We were crazy. It was fun. I have bruises on my knees from trying to slide across the dance floor. ha.

*****
We found a house! Our lease is up at the end of April, and we must move. I will give more details when we have actually signed the lease. I don't want to get my hopes too high.

*****
Well that's all for now. How was your St. Patrick's Day? Did you have any green beer?

When a self-haircut goes bad

When I was four years old, I got my first pair of scissors. I needed them for school. When I got home, the first thing I wanted to do was to cut my doll's hair. My mom then said the worst thing she could have possibly said.

"Don't cut her hair; it won't grow back like yours will."

So I, in my four year old little mind, decide that it's a great idea to cut my hair. I go to my room, shut the door, then take a few snaps. I got caught. My mom wasn't happy. I could have done a better job cutting. My mom took me to get it fixed. It's 1986, so what did I end up with???

This...

That's right...a mullet. Isn't that amazing??? I was the jealous envy of four year olds everywhere.

Don't you wish you were that cool when you were four?

some stories for you...please read on.

So I really need a new bank card...
Yesterday, my roommate and I went to mass (that's a whole other story in itself so you will have to read past for that one). We left a minutes early because I was nearly out of gas and I needed to stop and get some. We stop at a BP on Keystone. It was basically the last gas station you would want to go to before entering the ghetto. I NEEDED to get gas there. So, I get out of the car to start pumping my gas. I try to swipe my card, and it can't read it (go figure). So I go in to prepay. They guy tells me the pump was just messed up and to go try again. I go back out. The pump is really all screwy now, so I pull up to the next pump. Surprise! It doesn't take my card either. So, I go back in to prepay. It's this girl's third day; she doesn't know how to do that. She asks the manager for help. He tells me that I can't prepay with a credit card, and they aren't allowed to hold the cards anymore so I can still pump. He then proceeds to tell me I could try the bank machine. That makes a ton of sense doesn't it. So I say Ok, but I doubt that's going to work. The card just doesn't swipe. Well, that doesn't work, so I run out to the car to see if Lindsey has a five or something I can use just so we can get to another gas station. She had left her wallet at home. So, I had two dollars in my wallet, so I go back in with my $2. I tell the guy, alright I have my card and can pay after, or I have this $2. He says he can authorize the pump for $2 but can't take my card because they aren't allowed to do that anymore. I said ok, whatever. So I go to put the freaking $2 in, and it stops at $.20. By this time, I am so mad, really trying to hold it in though...I mean, I'm on my way to mass. I run back in for about the 10th time, tell him. He tells me it should be fixed and sends me back out. Ok, I guess you had to be there. It doesn't sound as good on paper. I was furious though. I really wish the bank would actually get on sending me a replacement card. Oh well, so is life! I was able to gas after mass, so I was alright.

My roommate went to mass...
So here's some background info. My roommate was brought up Catholic. She told me yesterday that she had never gone to mass out of her own free will. She was always forced by her parents or bribed. For some reason, she went to mass with me yesterday. Maybe it was for the free food after, maybe it was for the young priest who usually does the mass, or maybe her "spiritual window was open" as she so put it. Anyway, she is sitting next to me at mass and is completely cracking me up. She knew everything she needed to say...everything to recite. I can't even do that and I go to mass pretty regularly! Anyway, the homily was about money, or leaving a legacy...I had issues with that, but I guess that's for another day. She says she can't think of a mass she has been to where they didn't focus completely on money, and that's one of her major problems with the Catholic church. It may not just be the Catholic church. I think it may be all churches. Anyway, I told her she should try again because they don't always talk about money. Anyway, it's funny. I bring people to mass, and I'm not even Catholic! Ha...Then, on the way home, I decided to get some more Jesus in her, so we listened to KLOVE all the way home :). Well not all the way home...I could only handle so much.

woo...this post is getting long.
It's Spring Break this week! I'm super excited! I don't have to quite use my brain as much!
One last thought...I hate the Pacers. I think I'm going to boycott...

Does anybody else have any good weekend stories?

I'm going to take a crack at it...

A couple posts ago, I asked for ideas for stuff to write about. This is one that I got:

Topic: 1980's era Gummi Bears, and their impact on present-day politics

Hmmm...I may need to do some research. I was not aware that 1980's era Gummi Bears were much different than they are now.

Ok, I just did some Google research. Turns out there was a t.v. show called Gummi Bears. Is that what you are talking about? I never saw this show.

If you would like to take a look at this show, I will provide you with a link to check out a brief synopis along with some other basic facts.

Here it is

How this show (or the candy) affected politics, I can't tell you. Any ideas? Did anybody see this show?

*******
Alright, moving on.

Actually, that's all I have to say for the day. It's Sunday. I should be resting.

Oh wait, one more thing...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONY! You are my hero. :) You are so old now...a whopping 25 years.

Goodbye

Roe V. Wade for men

So, apparently when it comes to unplanned pregnancy, men want their rights too.

Check this article out: yeah, this one.

Weird. So a woman has the choice to either abort a pregnancy, give the baby up for adoption, or keep the baby. These men feel that if the woman they impregnate decides to keep the baby, and the man does not want the baby, he should not feel like he is personally responsible to support the child in any way.

I wonder how this will play out. I don't think our court system will let this fly. If you get a woman pregnant, be willing to face the consequences. Maybe you should have done something differently in the first place to not get the woman pregnant.

What are your thoughts on this guys? Do you think that if a girl wants to get an abortion and the guy does not want her to get it, the guy should be able to force her to have the child because he wants it, and then she won't be financially responsible at all? I don't think that would fly either.

I think that men should just count this as a case lost and realize THEY aren't the ones carrying the baby. I little check every month isn't all that bad is it?

Any thoughts?

My attempt to use absolutely no ...'s in my post

*I must put a plug out there for Ellery because I think they deserve one. Check them out at here. The have a CD release show on April 8th near Cincy. Everybody should go. I'll be there; that's a great reason to go. Anyway, why is Ellery so cool? Well first of all, they are related to Tyana. Tyana is very cool. So is her sister Tasha. Tasha sings in Ellery. Her voice is so great. Their music makes me smile. Plus, both Tasha and Justin (Tasha's husband) are so very nice and funny. If you never have heard of them before, you can here them on my Myspace profile . That way, you will know what they sound like and you will want to accompany me to the show. It's so worth the drive, I promise! I guess that's all the love I am going to give Ellery for today, but I am so very excited to here the new LP. It includes all the songs from the EP plus more!

*I really want to write about something witty and interesting, but I'm at a loss. Who knows. All I know is the resident phone guy has not commented in a while. Where are you? Are the phones driving you nuts? I hope not. Our phones are doing pretty good. Today at work, some guy who was "contracted by the phone company to put some smart jacks in" came by. We weren't supposed to have any smart jacks installed. I think he was a government spy. The government wants to spy on us. Luckily, we were able to catch him before he could put the taps in.

*Wait, maybe this could be interesting. Give me a caption for this picture. Notice Carrie sitting in the chair taking the picture in the mirror behind me.

*I saw Bill Gates at Marsh today. Well, probably not Bill Gates, but someone real close. I think he was an impersonator because seriously, why would Bill Gates be at a Marsh in Indianapolis. There was an Audi with Washington plates in the parking lot though, so maybe it was him. Again, probably not. I guess that's not really that interesting either.

*Can anybody give me any ideas on what to write about? Give me a comment, and I'll write about whatever you say :) That could make for something interesting.

Oh Florida...

So I am back...:(.

I had a good weekend. Got there Friday...came back yesterday. Good times. First...I met up with Sarah's friend Lauren. I had never met her before, but here and I had both gotten there early. We went out Friday night...

On Saturday...we went to breakfast. My meal cost a total of 6 something. I put it on my card. She put 11.40 on it. I tell her of the mistake and she decided to give me a 5 to fix it...I was just going to say don't worry about it...and that would be her tip. She gives it back to me though and I put the tip on my card. She gets that $3 tip and then takes her $5 back. Before I could say anything...she was gone. I decided it wasn't worth it to worry about it. STILL I tipped her eight freaking dollars. I then realized I had no clue where my I.D. was. So I went to go find it. I mean, without it...I can't drink AND I can't go home. I found it at the bar from the evening before...so that was good. I spent a good bit of time on the beach. It was good times. We then had Sarah's little bachelorette party...then we went to dinner. I had some crab...learned I'm not very good at actually getting the crab meat out the shells. It was work. We then went out...good times. We so tore up the bars. We made a name for ourselves. We would go other places and people would say stuff to us...Hey! you're that bachelorette party! We even had one group ask us where we were going out because "we looked like fun" ha...

Sunday...went to breakfast...went to the same place as the day before. It took 20 minutes for them to come get our order...then it took another 40 minutes to get our food. The waitress (same as the day before) kept telling us "thanks for being patient." We actually were not patient at all...but whatever...We finally get our food...Carrie asks for a discount...We get a small one...it then takes about 15 minutes to get our checks...All time we could have been spending on the beach. We went to the beach...stayed for a while...then Lauren had to leave :(. Then, we spent some time in the pool. After that...it was time for dinner...we went to this Cuban restaurant. They had 2 for 1 margaritas. (See picture below). She gave me both at the same time so I had to drink them both at the same time. haha. We came back to the room...watched a bit of the Oscars...I realized I didn't have my phone...had to go back to the Cuban restaurant. I had left my phone there. Then Sarah and I went out...we had a very good time.

Monday...we spent a little time out on the beach...but then...we had to come home.... It's cold :(

**************
ok...enough about the trip...

Something someone had written on their Xanga...
"Oh no, Rush and Hannity disagree. Now I have to think for myself. Darn it. :)"

Heaven forbid if Rush and Hannity disagree...I think she was joking...I mean I surely hope that some crazy right wing talk radio people are not the basis on which you form opinions. I mean I would hope that some crazy left wing Air America person is also not your basis. Make your own damn decisions...My goodness. That is terrible...I hope that Rush and Hannity NEVER disagree again. What would this world come to? A bunch of free thinkers? Rush and Hannity wouldn't want that...they really need to get together to make sure their opinions match.

So So Sorry...

Sometimes my life gets in such a whirl...I forget to update.

So here are a few things...

One... I LEAVE FOR FLORIDA TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!! I am going down there for my cousin Sarah's bachelorette party...It's going to be great. It's a short trip...I'll be back on Monday :(. However...that's better than Indiana...aren't you jealous???

Two...Harry Potter...I finally gave in...no, I haven't seen the movies, nor have I seen Star Wars or Lord of the Rings yet (one day, one day). The seventh grader I tutor in Spanish loves Harry Potter, and some how I ended up with the first Harry Potter book in my hands to borrow to read. I sat down on Saturday afternoon and I read it. It's cute. Of course, it's not difficult reading material. Nathan said I shouldn't even admit that I read it. Anyway...what I wanted to say was I wonder if all the Christians that were such in a Harry Potter uproar actually read the book. I mean seriously...sometimes people boycott things for the hell of it. Yes, there was magic in it, but do these very same people boycott Bewitched and I Dream of Jeanie? I don't think so. Of course, it was a little darker than that, but I saw nothing wrong with it. From what I here, it gets a bit darker and mature as the books progress. I don't know. Any of you read it?
However, from according to some people, it doesn't matter if the magic is dark or white...It's still magic...and it says in Deuteronomy this:

"There shall not be found among you anyone who ...practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you. You shall be blameless before the LORD your God. For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the LORD your God has not appointed such for you." Deut 18:10-24

sidenote real quick...does it say anything about reading about fictional characters? Do you not think the people of Iseral ever read a mythical story???

So those are the verses used by people as to why Harry Potter should be forbidden? That's always fun for me. Please...if you use that reason to not read Harry Potter...

*Do not get a tattoo...it's forbidden
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
Leviticus 19:28

*Stay away from the bacon...
"And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase." Deuteronomy 14:8

*Don't ever go to Red Lobster and get the Lobster... Leviticus 11:10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you

....and by all means!!! get yourself a slave!

Lev. 25:44 Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, [shall be] of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.

25:45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that [are] with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.

(just make sure they aren't from here...)

********
Alright...we all know that is ridiculous...we aren't bound to follow those rules anymore...so stop using one rule if you don't want to use them all!

*****
I guess that's all I am going to say for now. Have a good day!
