the randomness that's in my head...

I don't think I mentioned this before...but I thought it was really sweet...and it almost brought a tear to my eye.

My sister is Iraq. She works in the office of a prison. She doesn't get off work until about 1 a.m. My sister is also married. Her husband is also in the army, however, they are in two totally different spots of the country. It is very rough on them. They miss each other. The other day, I got an e-mail from my sister...this is what it said:

just thought i would write u and tell u, i was walking back to my room at like 1 in the morning and when i got there nick was sitting on my door step. although i dont get anytime off of work. im still happy he made it here. well i will talk to u in a few days once nick goes back.

How sweet is that? I wonder if she cried when she saw him. I think I would. I'm so happy they get to spend a few days together!

She may get to come home soon! She's hoping by Christmas...I hope that's the case. She's realy fighting for it...and she's a tough cookie.

Since we are talking about my sister...maybe I'll put a picture up. That sounds fun...

If any of you know how short I am...just notice my sister...she's really short.

Alright...moving on.

In Iceland, they turned out all the lights in a city so everybody could look at the stars. Isn't that cool? I love looking at stars. It's one of my favorite things to do. Unfortunately, I don't get to do that very often. Stars don't make an appearance much in Broadripple...ha. If the sky is full of stars...and I'm talking to someone outside...I most of the time can't concentrate because I keep staring at the sky. It sucks that it's been cloudy about everytime I've been down to the Red. Oh well...so I guess the point of this is stars are cool. I wish Indianapolis would turn off all its lights...and force people to turn off their tvs...and make everybody go outside...and just stare. Anybody want to go on a midnight picnic with me...to the middle of nowhere...and look at the stars?

Wow, that was sort of random.

Something else random...

I still don't know what to dress up as for Halloween. Should I ask Brian to let me use the Elmo costume again? That was a crazy costume. It's not one that will be easily forgotton. Jessie is having her annual Halloween party...should be crazy times. The night before that, I'm doing a run with her...just for fun...Run Like Hell...and I want to dress up for that. I don't mind if it's awkward to run in...I really just plan on jogging it. I'm doing a race in the morning. A five-miler. I want to kick butt in that. It's the Pleasant Run Run...and that's the first road race I did when I started this running business a couple years ago. I hope to be about twenty minutes faster than I was that first year. Ha..isn't that crazy?

So yeah, give me ideas for a costume....please...

Icelanders are awesome, I really want to go hang out there. Another place to see lots of stars is the UP of Michigan, the very best I've seen is Isle Royale, google it, pretty cool.

So now that my company has been purchased the first thing that came into my mind was the Berbee Derby. Next year could it be the CDW Derby??? Anyway I am really wanting the 2006 t-shirt just incase the name changes. So Rose, you in Madison this turkey day?

I don't have an idea for a Halloween costume. But, what you do can be as interesting as what you wear.

The past couple of years on Halloween, I've visited a popular and historic cemetery (supposedly a witches cemetery) and watched the visitors as they came expecting to witness an orb or two. Two years ago, a couple of supposed specialists in the paranormal showed up with equipment to measure energy and other stuff. My brother-in-law and I climbed up a tree and shook it as people walked by. The tree was shaped in such a way that we were not seen. Because of the lore of the cemetery, it didn't take much to really frighten people.

Last year, I went by myself, dressed-up in a shirt and tie and sat motionless on an old stump. Most of the passers by kept their distance. For a while I walked around with a group of kids from a local high school who were being taken on a guided tour of the cemetery. One of the guys was paranoid because of how I was dressed. He freaked out, accused me of being a devil worshipper, and threatened me. That was quite a night. Unfortunately, this year I have a rehearsal on Halloween. So, I won't be able to participate in the same kind of activities.

Anyway, I can't think of a good costume for you at the moment. But, I'll let you know if I do.

Maybe we should both dress up as 80's girls for the run....we could wear leggings and stuff and that way it would still be easy to run in. I want to beat my last time in a race, so I want to be comfy....even though I know I won't run super fast or anything....just gotta beat the last time.....as for my party...I don't know what I'm gonna be for it either. Patrick's on his way over and were gonna go costume shopping....fun times.
I hope Becca gets to come home for Xmas!
